Fantastic Franschoek
We step into the beautiful Franschoek home of architect and property developer Neil Hewitt and his interior designer fiance, Michelle Bastian. Specialising in barn conversions, they’ve incorporated elements of the style in their home, along with Eastern influences picked up by Michelle over years of travelleing. The end product is a home that’s as stunning inside as the Cape Winelands area it’s surrounded by!

Joburg Fashion Week
We go behind the scenes of one of South Africa’s premier fashion events – Audi Joburg Fashion Week, and get the low-down on the latest trends for 2010 from top local designers Machere, Spero Villioti , Carducci Woman and Fabiani!

Riding Elephants in Thailand
From the bustling city of Bangkok, Jo-ann travels to the Four Seasons Tented Camp in the Golden Triangle for a 5 star escape in the heart of Thailand. Here she takes a tour, Thai-style – on the back of an elephant, together with some time at their luxury spa and a look into the historic silk trade of the area.

Acorn House in London
Executive Chef Arthur Potts Dawson is taking the term “eco-friendly” to the next level at Acorn House Restaurant in London’s Kings Cross. Their coffee is Fair-trade, ensuring third-world coffee farmers get a decent price. Counter-tops are mad of Corian, a composite of industry by-products. There’s no high-end walk-in fridge – instead all produce is bought fresh every day, kept at room temperature and all this learning is shared with the community on their website, acornhouse.com. Jo-ann visited the restaurant to see if the food was as good as their eco-wise intentions!

Zuraida Jardine and Family
Dhiveja catches up with Josh Lindberg and Zuraida Jardine and the newest addition to their family – their baby daughter Zaria, all fresh from their return from Hollywood to set up home back in SA. We set them up with top photographer Chris Townend for a special photo-shoot to mark this momentous time in their lives.

Wetherlys
Buildings that aim to minimize their visual impact on the environment - materials like concrete, glass and steel which are almost wholly re-cyclable - and interiors made of re-cycled materials in the furniture manufacturing process which are nevertheless at the leading edge of fashion and comfort. These are the ways in which architects and designers are leading the world in green thinking, and in South Africa Wetherlys are right out front with a new range of eco-wise contemporary furniture.
